After a disappointing end to the season, Scotland started this one minus captain Andy Robertson, Grant Hanley, and Liam Cooper. Kieran Tierney was fit and Ryan Fraser was recalled. Scotland changed their formation and played four at the back.
After 20 minutes, Armstrong had his shot saved, and Christie could not make the proper contact with the rebound. Armstrong had another chance on the hour mark, but his shot was shot over from close range. Two minutes later, McGinn played a cross into the box for Adams to have his header come back off the crossbar from close range. McGinn played the ball back in and Adams had another header, this one was saved low down. With 20 minutes remaining, McGinn collected a loose ball in the box, and hit a low shot past the keeper to make it 1-0. Ten minutes later Fraser and Dykes, who had just come on the field, combined to make it 2-0. A corner from Fraser was floated in to the head of Dykes, whose downward header beat the keeper at the far post. Six minutes later the same pair were at it again. Another corner from Fraser has headed in by Dykes to make it 3-0, with the keeper Trubin rooted to the spot. It was a great performance and victory that put Scotland top of the table.
