Israel 1-0 Scotland

Scotland went into their final Nations League match needing a victory. Steve Clarke reverted to the same 11 who started against Serbia. The first half hour did not have any clear cut chances. Then a cross by McTominay was met by the head of McGinn, only for the keeper to make a great save. A minute before half time, Israel broke away from a Scotland attack, and Solomon on the left wing wrong footed McTominay, before hitting a low shot past Marshall to make it 1-0. Just into the second half, Zahavi amost doubled Israel's lead, when he shot just past the post. Stephen O'Donnell had a low shot saved by the keeper, and with 15 minutes remaining, a diving header by McBurnie was also saved. With just over 10 minutes remaining, Weissman was through on goal, but Marshall saved from close range. With two minutes remaining, a Tierney throw in was headed down to Griffiths in the box, but he did not make proper contact with the ball, and the keeper saved the shot. In injury time, there looked to be a hand ball in the box by Dasa, but the referee denied Scotland a penalty. With practically the last kick of the ball, a powerfull free kick by Griffiths was palmed away by the keeper, for the game to end 1-0. As Czech Republic had beaten Slovakia 2-0, Scotland had missed out on promotion, and would not qualify for the World Cup playoffs. It was a dissapointing end to a week that had started so well.
