Greece 3-2 Scotland
Denmark 2-2 Belarus

Going into the final double header, Scotland had major worries with Angus Gunn ruled out through injury. This meant 42 year old Craig Gordon was recalled. Gilmour was also ruled out of the Greece match, with the possibility of playing against Denmark. Scotland knew that they needed a draw in Greece and a win against Denmark to automatically qualify. Although Greece had nothing to play for, they had something to prove to their fans.

After only 7 minutes a poor defensive mistake by Souttar let Pavlidis through on goal, but after Gordon saved his shot, Hanley let Bakasetas hit a low shot past Gordon to make it 1-0 to Greece. It was the worst start for Scotland. Greece dominated for the rest of the first half but failed to capitalize. In injury time Scotland came alive. First they came close when McTominay hit the bar from a shot just outside the penalty area. Che Adams then headed into the side netting, before Gannon-Doak was through one-on-one but the keeper saved his shot. At the start of the second half, Christie intercepted a pass, before going through on goal and passing to Adams, but his goalbound shot was blocked, and the keeper saved the rebound. Four minutes later Greece got their second. Tetteh ran down the left wing before passing to Karetsas, who hit a low shot past Gordon to make it 2-0. Five minutes later Tzolis collected the ball midway inside the Scotland half, and as everyone backed off, he hit a screaming shot that went past Gordon into the top corner to make it 3-0, and end Scotland's hopes. At the same time though, Belarus equalised against Denmark in Copenhagen to make it 1-1, meaning that Scotland's hopes maybe werent over. Two minutes later, Scotland pulled one back when McGinn made a great run down the left wing, and his low ball into the box was met by Gannon-Doak, who rifled it into the top of the net making it 3-1. Just after that happened, news came from Copenhagen that Belarus had taken the lead, leaving Scotland level with Denmark. With 20 minutes remaining, Scotland got their second when a great cross from Robertson was met by the head of Christie, who headed past the keeper to make it 3-2. A couple of minutes later, Adams had a great chance, but he could not control the ball, and Christie's shot was deflected wide. With just over 10 minutes remaining, McTominay met with a cross from Gannon-Doak, but his shot was superbly saved by the keeper. It then came through that Denmark had equalised. It would be a tense final 10 minutes. Bakasetas was then sent off, reducing Greece to ten men for elbowing Ferguson. In injury time the Greek keeper prevented Hirst from tapping in a McGinn cross. At the final whistle there was a tense wait to hear the Denmark score, and after two minutes it came through that it ended 2-2 in Copenhagen, meaning Scotland were still in it. It would be a winner takes all match against Denmark at Hampden.
