Slovakia 1-0 Scotland

After the physically and emotionally draining match in Serbia 3 days earlier, Scotland made 8 changes to the starting 11, with McGinn, Christie, and Tierney the only unchanged players. After only 5 minutes, Craig Gordon, who was back after two years, had to save a shot from outside the box. A couple of minutes later, Liam Palmer put a shot over the bar, after McBurnie had an opportunity in the box. With 15 minutes on the clock, Armstrong played a great ball through to McBurnie, who had his shot blocked, when he should have scored. Just after the 30 minute mark, Slovakia took the lead. A shot form Jan Gregus, from outside the box, took a deflection off Kenny McLean to beat Craig Gordon. A few minutes later, McBurnie had a free header in the box that went straight to the keeper. Just before half time, Armstrong dinked the ball over the onrushing keeper, but the ball went just wide of the post. After the hour mark, Tierney put a great cross into the box for McLean to have a powerful header saved by the keeper. Right at the end, Griffiths was played through, but his low powerful shot was tipped past the post by the keeper, for the game to end 1-0, and end Scotland's unbeaten run.
