Scotland made a bright start to the friendly against Australia and were close to taking the lead after five minutes when James morrison crossed in to Jordan Rhodes whose back heel was collected by the keeper. Ten minutes later some controversy occured when Australia attacked down the left.  It looked like the ball went out of play, but play continued only for an Australian shot to appear to hit Danny Fox's hand on the goalline and again the referee waved play on.  The Australian's probably felt vindicated a minute later when they took the lead.  A corner kick was headed away by Berra only to be volleyed past McGregor from outside the box by Bresciano.  Ten minutes later Scotland equalised when Fox made a run down the left wing and played in a great cross that was met by a glancing header by Jordan Rhodes. Just before the hour mark, Matt Gilks was called into action when he tipped a shop over the bar. A few minutes later, Fox made another run down the wing and played in another great ball, but this one was headed in by Davidson for an own goal to give Scotland the lead.  With 15 minutes remaining, substitute Ross McCormack killed the game off when he scored Scotland's third. He collected a throw in from Charlie Mulgrew before playing a one-two with Naismith, taking on two defenders, and hitting a low shot past the keeper.  With five minutes remaining, Charlie Adam curled a shot just past the post, and could not add to the scoreline which ended 3-1 to Scotland, to gave them a morale boosting victory.
