Belgium took the lead just before the half hour mark when Scotland lost possession in front of the box and Hazard passed to Lukaku who passed it into the net. Six minutes before half time Kompany had a header hit the bar. Gordon then made a double save just on half time from Hazard and then Lukaku. Just after the second half started, Belgium went 2-0 up when a thunderbolt from Hazard beat Gordon. Six minutes later, Hazard laid it on a plate for Batshuayi to hit a low shot past Gordon and make it 3-0. On the hour mark Batshuayi made it 4-0. Tielemans tackled Jack, and Batshuayi hit a shot from outside the box past Gordon. Four minutes later Naismith almost got one back, but Courtois made a point blank save from close range. With six minutes left, Fraser had a shot palmed past the post by Courtois. In the final minute Fraser had another shot go past the post. It was a Fourth defeat in five games fro McLeish, and things were not looking good for him.
